When “Handmade” Also Means “Made with a Story”
It all began with something as simple as a wreath made from corn husks. During a trip to Querétaro, Mexico, in late 2018, Jorge Aguilar discovered artisans making them and saw more than just decoration: he saw a tradition that could travel beyond borders. That chance encounter led to the creation of Manos con Arte in 2019, first as a digital platform dedicated to bringing together handcrafted pieces from Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Over time, the screens gave way to a physical space where those creations could finally tell their stories face to face.

The shelves feel different once you realize how much work came before them: needles, fabric, leather, embroidery, and hours of craftsmanship. Embroidered guayaberas sit alongside accessories, home décor, and handcrafted footwear, including textile espadrilles made by Mexican artisans. It is not simply about choosing something beautiful.
It is about finding the piece whose story you want to carry forward. Because at Casa Manos con Arte, the hands create the piece, but the journey decides where it will end up.
