The Night Begins When You Find the Door
On Calle 2a Oeste, inside Galería Solar, Casco seems to be hiding one of its best-dressed secrets. The 1920 does not announce itself loudly. You step into a small room with dim lighting, vintage details, and only about 22 seats, and suddenly the street feels far away.
The concept brings back the spirit of the speakeasies that emerged during Prohibition in the United States, when having a drink meant discretion, codes, and doors not everyone knew how to open. Here, that sense of secrecy becomes intimacy: low conversations, a close-up view of the bar, and the feeling that the night belongs only to those who managed to find it.
Prohibition Ends at the Bar
The cocktail menu keeps the story going. Old Fashioneds, Manhattans, Negronis, and Tom Collins share the spotlight with signature creations such as Clandestino, Enmienda 18, El Intocable, and Art of Smoke, made with premium spirits and house-prepared ingredients.
Each glass feels like a small chapter from another era without trying too hard to leave the present behind.
The 1920 has something that is hard to manufacture: the feeling that you discovered a place before everyone else. You walk in looking for a cocktail and end up understanding the real appeal of a speakeasy: part of the experience is being able to say, “I know where it is.”
